About Us
π Hi, Iβm Sarah β Founder of NZ Care Kits
With a background in healthcare and years of experience working with people and families, caring for others has always been at the heart of what I do.
But my passion for helping older people is also deeply personal. β€οΈ
- π©Ί Healthcare is in my DNA β my professional journey has given me a strong understanding of health, wellbeing and the challenges people can face as they age.
- π¨π©π§ Iβve seen it firsthand β my own ageing parents have experienced health challenges including Alzheimerβs, cancer, falls, stroke and diabetes. Iβve seen how much everyday tasks can change β and how difficult it can be to find the right products to help.
- π‘ Thatβs where NZ Care Kits was born β from a desire to make finding practical, helpful solutions much easier for older people and their families.
- π€ I believe care should feel empowering β not frustrating, overwhelming or undignified.
- πΏ My mission is simple β to help people stay independent, comfortable and confident for as long as possible, with thoughtful tools that make everyday life a little easier.
π Because sometimes, better care starts with one simple solution.
And if I can help someone say βOh, I didnβt know there was a tool for that!β β then I know Iβm doing something worthwhile.
π We Listen First β Then We Create
Before launching NZ Care Kits, we wanted to understand the real challenges people face in everyday life β straight from the people experiencing them.
- We talked to Kiwis β listening to what everyday tasks were becoming difficult.
- π¬ We asked the important questions β βWhatβs frustrating you?β βWhat feels hardest?β βWhat would make this easier?β
- π¨π©π§ We listen to families & carers β because they often see the challenges up close.
π‘ Behind Every Kit Is a Team
We donβt do it alone! Our kits are shaped by a dedicated team who understand the real-life challenges people face every day.
- π©βοΈ Nurses & healthcare professionals β bringing valuable clinical insight and experience.
- π€ Support workers & caregivers β sharing what they see and experience in everyday care.
- π Fitness consultant β helping us think about comfort, movement and practical everyday solutions.
- π Lots of brainstorming! β we regularly discuss everyday challenges and ask, βIs there a simpler way to do this?β
- π§ͺ Real-world testing β we thoughtfully select and test tools before including them in our kits.
- β€οΈ The goal? Simple solutions that work β making everyday tasks easier, safer and more comfortable.
Because the best solutions come from listening to the people who understand the challenges firsthand.
